Stream relocation in progress
When streams and wetlands become degraded, Carolina Environmental Contracting works to restore them so they can once again perform their natural functions of preserving water quality, supporting fish and wildlife habitats, controlling floodwaters and pollution runoff, and keeping erosion in check.
Many construction projects require streams to be relocated in a manner that maintains a healthy habitat for wildlife. Our experience and dedication to meeting or exceeding the strict government standards regarding stream and wetlands protection have made us a leader in this field.
Case Study: Stream Restoration/Relocation
The Western Loop in Guilford County not only required all permitted areas be protected with wetland protection fencing but also mandated the relocation of several streams.
Although stream relocation was relatively new to NCDOT at the time, the project showcased Carolina Environmental Contracting's abilities and knowledge in this burgeoning field.
