Smith Rowe, Inc.
Sedimentation Control is one of the most demanding requirements of construction. Carolina Environmental Contracting understands the critical timelines that contractors face and responds quickly - most often within 24 to 48 hours.
As part of our drive to better serve our customers, Carolina Environmental Contracting Inc. now offers a more comprehensive approach to erosion control. Our goal is to participate with a more complete sediment control package.
Specializing in the installation of erosion control systems specifically designed for the protection of waterways, woodlands, wetlands and all other environmentally sensitive areas, Carolina Environmental Contracting has the experience and expertise to assist contractors in all environmental phases of a construction project.
Once on site, we carefully evaluate each unique construction site to achieve the most environmentally sound solution that is also economically feasible. Carolina Environmental Contracting's division supervisors make qualified recommendations that help ensure the successful completion of the total construction project by using problem-solving techniques that are time-tested and cover all types of site conditions.
We are self-sufficient thereby allowing contractors to focus on other aspects of the project. Contractors count on Carolina Environmental Contracting as a constant resource throughout construction project.
Case Study: Brier Chapel, Chatham County, NC

Sediment control in place
For the Brier Chapel project in Chatham County, Carolina Environmental Contracting installed miles of orange tree protection through the woods before the issuance of grading permits. As the first contractor on the site, we hauled materials and installed fence for the protected areas while maintaining minimal disturbance. Bottom line - a tremendous amount of hiking while hauling materials by hand. We love getting our hands dirty.
Carolina Environmental Contracting completed the tree protection fencing and sediment control measures efficiently and accurately so grading operations could move forward with confidence that the sediment would not leave the site. Chatham County's commitment to environmental and tree protection was addressed and unquestioned.
Case Study: Western Loop, Guilford County, NC
For the Western Loop in Guilford County, NCDOT required all permitted areas be protected with wetland protection fence. Since the project would impact extensive environmentally sensitive areas, Carolina Environmental Contracting was charged with installing of 107,000 linear feet of wetland protection fence. Responding with five crews to immediately address the situation and prevent further disturbances caused by inconsistencies in the initial clearing performed by another vendor, we installed the wetland protection fence and 125,000 linear feet of temporary silt fence.
This project also required the relocation of several streams. Though stream restoration was relatively new to NCDOT at the time, the project allowed Carolina Environmental Contracting to showcase its abilities and knowledge in this burgeoning field of environmental protection.
