Our 2011 projects:
1. Western Wake Expressway, Wake Co.; owner NC Turnpike Authority
- Raleigh-Durham Roadbuilders, Apex, NC
- Started in 2010; complete in 2012
- $1.3 million contract to install temporary sediment control measures and controlled access fence on the Western Wake Freeway being constructed in Wake Co., NC. The 12.6 mi. toll road system is a 6 lane, controlled access road scheduled to be open to traffic in 2012. This project is the first project in the US designed and built to utilize an all electronic toll collection system, meaning there will be no toll booths and no stopping to pay tolls. Contract includes 300,000 lf silt fence, 54,000 lf of wetland and tree protection fence, and 150,000 lf of controlled access woven wire fence.
2. NC-210 Fayetteville Outer Loop, Cumberland Co.; owner NCDOT
- Barnhill Contracting Co., Tarboro, NC
- Started in 2009; complete in 2011
- 8,500 lf of chain link & 11,000 lf woven wire fence for the contract to construct a 4 lane bypass around Fayetteville and construct a larger ingress and egress to Fort Bragg.
3. Lewis Creek Stream Restoration, Hendersonville, NC; owner NC Ecosystem Enhancement Program

- Restore approx. 1,750 lf of Lewis Creek using natural channel design procedures, clearing, grading, installation of stabilization & habitat structures, planting using native species appropriate to the area
4. Pilot Knob Rd., Surry Co.; owner NCDOT
- APAC-Atlantic, Inc., Greensboro, NC
- Start / completion in 2011
- Grading, drainage, shoulder reconstruction and concrete ditches to correct storm drainage and erosion issues on the road to the summit of Pilot Mountain State Park,
5. Pender Co. Surface Water Treatment Plant; owner Pender Co.
- Crowder Construction Co., Apex, NC
- Started in 2010; complete in 2011
- Storm drainage, grading, and temporary sediment control for a new SWTP?.the new facility will pump water from local reservoirs to the facility to be treated for domestic water use.
6. House Creek Greenway, Raleigh, NC; owner City of Raleigh
- Blythe Construction, Charlotte, NC
- Start in 2010; complete in 2011
- 23,105 lf silt fence as part of 2.9 mi. greenway constructed on a former sewer outfall? ?repurposing the sewer outfall?.
7. Hwy. 311 Bypass Design Build, Randolph Co.; owner NCDOT

- Start in 2008; complete in 2011
- 75,050 lf woven wire fence on new roadway which is a section of the High Point Bypass?this will connect I-40 in Forsyth County to NC 220 just north of Asheboro, and be a part of the new I-74 corridor.
8. Cross Creek Water System, Mount Airy, NC; owner City of Mount Airy
- Triangle Grading & Paving, Burlington, NC
- Started in 2009; complete in 2011
- 57.6 ac seeding, 10,863 yd2 erosion control matting for a water and sewer project in a recently annexed residential area for the city of Mount Airy, NC.
9. Damascus Church Rd. Sanitary Sewer; owner city of N. Wilkesboro, NC

- 19,220 lf silt fence for sewer line construction for the city of North Wilkesboro.

14. Burlington Dam Rehab, Burlington, NC; owner City of Burlington, NC

- 7,250 feet silt fence, 1,510 feet tree protection at Old Stony Creek Dam & Lake Cammack Dam for repairs and upgrade at both
15. Briar Chapel Phase 5, Chatham Co., NC; privately owned
- Sanford Contractors, Sanford, NC
- Started in 2010; complete in 2011
- Silt fence, tree protection, coir baffles at Phase 5 of this private development?.a 1600 acre project being developed over a 10 year period. The project includes homes, shopping and recreational facilities, school, parks, and nature trails. This master planned development was designed to help the county balance growth while at the same time conserving and protecting natural resources.
16. Lake Johnson Dam Rehab, Raleigh, NC; owner City of Raleigh

- Silt fence, tree protection, matting, seeding & mulching on a dam improvement project
17. Charlotte Douglas International Airport Parallel Runway, owner City of Charlotte, NC

- 70000 lf of silt fence, 3000 lf of wattles, 3500 lf of coir baffles for temporary sediment control measures during approximately 10,000,000 cy of embankment construction for new runway, encompassing 900 acres.
18. South Muddy Creek Stream Restoration, McDowell Co., NC; owner NC Ecosystem Enhancement Program

- 2 sites on S. Muddy Creek: clearing and grubbing, floodplain excavation & creation of floodplain wetlands, channel relocation, fencing & gates and install in-stream structures
19. Hauser Creek Stream Restoration, Davie Co., NC; owner NC Ecosystem Enhancement Program
- Carolina Environmental Contracting, Inc., Mount Airy, NC
- Start / complete in 2011
- 2500 ft of stream restoration along with enhancement of Hauser Creek; 6 acres of buffer area to be restored. The project will require the installation of various in stream structures including rock structures, constructed riffles, sills, rock vanes and root wads. All disturbed areas will be re-vegetated with native plant material. Stream channel integrity, stream bank stability, water quality, flood plain construction and wildlife habitat will be addressed on this project
